In 2024, Steamforged Games reintroduced the acclaimed P3 Paint range, expanding it with never-before-released colours alongside classic fan favourites.
Building on the brand foundations originally established by Dan Gilmore, the P3 identity needed to scale across larger paint sets, spray cans, premium metallics, and retail display stands for hobby stores.
The objective was to create an identity that felt at home both within miniature-focused retail environments and more general craft outlets, while respecting the rich heritage of a brand that has been celebrated since 2006. Retaining recognisable elements of the original P3 styling was key to maintaining trust with existing fans.
The relaunched range went to crowdfunding in two waves, raising over £1.5 million. Beyond crowdfunding, P3 Paint secured placement on the shelves of hobby and miniature stores worldwide.
Introducing Premium Metallics
Wave 2 of the P3 Paint range introduced five premium metallic colours to the lineup.
These paints offered an industry-leading metallic finish, combining the look of solvent-based paints with the practicality of a water-based acrylic.
The metallic range was designed to feel elevated from the core P3 lineup. Each colour is presented in its own metallic-finished box, with the option to purchase the complete set as a cohesive statement piece for the paint desk. The packaging uses reflective finishes and restrained typography to reinforce the premium positioning and signal quality at a glance.
